Only 45% of Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Companies Made Charitable Donations in 2025, Study Finds

A new study has revealed that less than half of the companies listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange made charitable donations in 2025, raising questions about corporate social responsibility in Israel's business sector.

According to the study by ZOOOZ, a philanthropic advisory firm, donations by TASE-listed companies totalled approximately NIS 800 million in 2025 — representing only 10% of all charitable donations in Israel. The study's CEO, Shlomi Turgeman, noted that the concentration of giving among a relatively small number of companies suggests significant room for growth in corporate philanthropy.

"The fact that only 45% of public companies donated anything at all is striking," Turgeman said. "Israel's corporate sector has enormous potential to contribute to social causes, but that potential is not being fully realised."

The study also found that donations were heavily concentrated among the largest companies, with the top 10 corporate donors accounting for the majority of total giving. Technology and financial services companies were the most generous sectors, while real estate and retail trailed behind.

Philanthropy experts say the findings point to a need for greater awareness and infrastructure to support corporate giving. In the United States, by comparison, corporate donations make up a significantly larger share of total charitable giving.

"Israeli companies are innovative and successful on the global stage," Turgeman said. "We need to see that same innovative spirit applied to giving back to the communities that support them."
