Loftus Delivers a Bulls Masterclass

The Bulls stormed to a 45-14 victory over Munster in their United Rugby Championship quarter-final at Loftus on Saturday 30 May 2026. Six tries to Munster's two told the story of a performance that lit up the famous Pretoria ground and kept the home faithful roaring from start to finish.

Second-Half Shutout Turns the Screw

After a competitive first half the Bulls kept Munster scoreless after the break. That defensive wall and attacking flair turned a tight contest into a statement win, showing the character South African rugby fans have come to expect from the men in blue.

Glasgow Book Their Own Ticket

Across the channel Glasgow Warriors defeated Connacht 33-21 at Scotstoun. Both sides now prepare for a semifinal clash at Murrayfield in Edinburgh next Saturday, setting up a heavyweight European showdown.

Old Foes, New Venue, Fresh Stakes

The Bulls have lost twice to Glasgow this season, 21-12 at Scotstoun in October and 25-21 in the Champions Cup last-16 in April. Coach Johan Ackermann sees the Murrayfield meeting as a fresh opportunity to right those results on neutral ground.

Ackermann Demands Higher Standards

"Munster is similar to Glasgow in that their strength is launching from a set-piece," Ackermann said. "That is where they got momentum and those are areas we have to fix. We have to perform even better than tonight. Glasgow will punish us if we make the same mistakes. They are a highly skilled attacking team. Today we had the advantage of playing at home with the altitude, but next week it's a fair challenge."

Defensive Character Shines Amid Injury Concern

Ackermann praised the scramble defence that defined the win, noting the team spirit on display. A shoulder injury to Sergeal Petersen remains a concern ahead of the semifinal, yet the overall resilience gives the squad belief heading to Scotland.
