Editorial standards — Global 1 News
Global 1 News is published by 1Host.ing LLC of Atlanta, Georgia, and edited by Jessica Ali. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.
Accuracy
Every factual claim attributable to a named source is checked against that source before publication. Where a claim cannot be verified, we say so in the article or we leave it out. We do not publish a specific figure, date or quotation that we cannot attribute.
Sourcing
We name our sources: the BBC, Reuters, the Associated Press, Al Jazeera, and national broadcasters and newspapers. Where a story originates in a broadcast, we say which broadcaster published it. We do not attribute claims to “reports” without naming the organisation doing the reporting.
Use of artificial intelligence
We use AI tools to assist in drafting, research organisation and production. Every article carries an AI disclosure at the end of the piece. A named journalist is accountable for each published story, and AI assistance does not reduce our responsibility for what we publish.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it and note what changed. To request a correction, email [email protected] with the headline and the passage in question. We aim to respond within two working days.
Independence
We are owned and funded by our company and its owners. We accept no payment from political parties, campaigns or governments. Advertisers have no influence over editorial decisions and no sight of stories before publication.
Opinion and analysis
Analysis is labelled as analysis. The views expressed in opinion pieces are those of the author.
