    **Summary**


    This position supports the Ryder Continuous Improvement culture across the operation by actively applying continuous improvement methods to support new and existing operations. Drive process improvement activities to achieve tangible improvement in the key business metrics of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development.
    * Manages and completes CI and steady-state engineering projects that lead to improved business results. Assesses CI initiatives and provides input and recommendations on future activities. Support go-live and steady state certifications. Identify and support Automation projects. Regularly interacts with operations management and/or customer(s).
    * Develop and Demonstrate competency in wide range of engineering methods, Lean tools, and quality standards. Coach employees in the use and implementation of CI, and Lean principles. Apply engineering methodologies/tools such as product slotting, studying labor standards (time studies), and optimization of flow, data profiling and analysis, and resource modeling to improve transportation operations.

    This position supports the Ryder Continuous Improvement culture across the Business Unit/Vertical by actively promoting and facilitating the use of continuous improvement methods to support new and existing operations. The Manager will manage the CI resources across the business to influence and drive change through data driven CI, Engineering, and Automation efforts to deliver higher levels of performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth. Effectively leverage data analytics, engineering methodologies, and all Ryder lean tools to enable root cause identification and elimination. This high influence position will interface with employees at all levels and functions across the business. This individual will work directly with his/her Operational peers in the business units to define and set a strategy for engineering efforts and continuous improvement activities. This position reports to the CI Director and is closely aligned with a Group Director of Operations.


    **Essential Functions**


    * Supervise a team of continuous improvement engineering and quality professionals. Make employment decisions (hire, promote, coach, development) and manage performance. Manages and assigns CI resources for multiple and complex Supply Chain projects aligned with strategic and growth initiatives. Regularly interacts with Senior Management and/or customer(s).
    * Lead the development and execution of strategy, scorecarding and key performance indicator action plans. Work with Operational and SCE CI leadership to connect to strategy and conduct assessments of critical site and business needs. Develop a thorough, effective and timely strategic and continuous improvement plan to address the top business needs at Ryder sites. Ensure process improvement across all business activities are driven to achieve dramatic improvement in the key business metrics. Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against strategic business objectives.
    * Provide training, coaching, and mentoring: must be able to translate all Ryder Business System concepts and strategic objectives to local situations and help all levels of the organization develop understanding and application of tools for sustainable business improvements. Coach business owners to use Engineering, Data Analysis and Lean methods to achieve operational excellence. Support start-ups, retrofits and expansions including pricing inputs, go-live and steady state certifications.
    * Develop advanced competency in a wide range of engineering methods, data analysis, Lean tools, and quality standards and coach employees in their use. Ensures methodologies/tools such as product slotting, labor standards (time studies), layouts, optimization of flow, data profiling and analysis, automation, data analytics, and resource modeling are utilized to improve distribution and/or transportation operations.
    * Effective facilitation and execution of Value Stream Maps & Kaizen Events through all stages (A3 charter creation, pre-work identification and completion, delivery of results, regular follow up and follow through on sustainment). Independently identifies process gaps and recommends and leads CI Team to implement process improvement. Manage, track, and report the progress and value of the transformational activities and projects across customer accounts. Direct the assessment, development, implementation, and continuous improvement activities related to the implementation of lean processes across accounts.

    **Additional Responsibilities**


    * Manage the design, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of the QMS based on established company and/or industry standards.
    * Implement and monitor a standardized corrective action system.
    * Support regulatory compliance and certification requirements.
    * Oversee all functions related to Quality Assurance for a start-up or expansion.
    * Oversee internal auditing to ensure regulatory compliance and certification.

    * Supervise a team of continuous improvement engineering and quality professionals. Make employment decisions (hire, promote, coach, development) and manage performance. Manage, track, and report the progress and value of the transformational activities and projects across customer accounts. Direct the assessment, development, implementation, and continuous improvement activities related to the implementation of lean processes across accounts.

    * **Walk and or drive the yard and record the temperatures of trailers, also record spot numbers, set temperature and actual running temperatures.**
    * **Email spreadsheet to the office for Manager to look over, confirm and verify, then send out to our customer.**
    * **Temp check is sent out every two hours.**
    * **YARD CHECK**
    * **Use a templet on excel spreadsheet**
    * **Consists of checking two areas onsite, 100s & 300s**
    * **Check each trailer in these areas with a seal and running.**
    * **Record trailer#, spot# and fuel level.**
    * **Once completed email into dispatch to a manager**

    **Summary**


    This position supports the Ryder Continuous Improvement culture across the business by actively applying continuous improvement methods to support new and existing operations. The Lead Engineer will identify, lead and drive change within the operation through data driven CI, Engineering, and Automation efforts to deliver higher levels of performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth. Develop a thorough, effective, and timely continuous improvement plan to drive value for our customers (transformation plan development and execution). Drive process improvement activities to achieve tangible improvement in the key business metrics of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development
    * Manages and completes high impact CI projects across the operation that lead to improved business results. Assesses CI initiatives and provides input and recommendations on future activities. Support start-ups, retrofits and expansions including pricing inputs, go-live and steady state certifications. Identify and support Automation projects. Regularly interacts with account Management and/or customer(s).
    * Demonstrate a high level of competency in wide range of engineering methods, Lean tools, and quality standards and coaches employees in the use and implementation of CI, Quality Assurance, & Lean principles. Applies engineering methodologies/tools such as product slotting, studying labor standards (time studies), layouts and optimization of flow, data profiling and analysis, and resource modeling to improve distribution and/or transportation operations.
    * May supervise continuous improvement engineering and quality professionals. With guidance of manager participate in employment decisions (hire, coach) and manage performance.
    * Effective facilitation and execution Value Stream Maps & Kaizen Events through all stages (A3 charter ideation / creation, pre-work identification and completion, delivery of results in Kaizen week, regular follow up and follow through on sustainment). Coach process owners on how to use lean methods to achieve operational excellence
    * Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against the site objectives. Makes Inventory and/or Supply Chain strategy recommendations
