South Korean Jeju Air crash toll rises | Kamal Adwan Gaza detainees | Syrian women fear HTS rule
All 181 passengers except two are feared dead after Jeju Air Flight 2216 crashed while landing at an airport in South Korea. The Boeing 737-800 was landing at Muan International airport in the country's southwest.
Officials say the plane's landing gear malfunctioned. Two survivors have been pulled from the wreckage.
Israeli forces have detained more than 240 Palestinians who were inside the Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza. The IDF says the hospital was being used as a command centre for Hamas operations, an accusation hospital officials deny.
After the collapse of the Assad dictatorship, Syria needs rebuilding from the ground up. Rebel group HTS - now caretaker government - has promised an inclusive model as it restructures state institutions.
Despite assurances many women fear a religious state will limit their freedoms.
