With over three decades of experience, we serve a wide range of clients—from general contractors and technology-driven organizations to healthcare facilities, government agencies, and property managers. We deliver projects through a disciplined, collaborative approach focused on quality, cost control, and reliability. Our process includes rigorous equipment selection, detailed reviews, and proactive subcontractor management—helping us anticipate risks, avoid delays, and ensure safe, compliant, and efficient results. Our success is built on a people-first culture of teamwork, accountability, and respect. By investing in our employees and fostering open communication, we create an environment that supports long-term relationships—with both our team and our clients.

    Position Overview

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining modern full-stack web applications hosted in Microsoft Azure that support the operations of W.E. Bowers & Associates, LLC. The role delivers applications, integrations, and data solutions used directly by W.E. Bowers business users, while collaborating with Legence shared services and engineering teams across other Legence operating companies on shared platforms, standards, and reusable components.

A defining element of this role is the day-to-day use of artificial intelligence in the software-development workflow. The Software Engineer will leverage Claude Code and related AI tooling to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and embed AI capabilities into the applications they build.

This is a higher-entry-level position well suited to an early-career engineer with a foundation in full-stack web development who is ready to assume greater ownership, visibility, and responsibility for AI-assisted software delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Design, build, and maintain full-stack web applications hosted in Microsoft Azure.
    * Develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces using React.
    * Build and maintain back-end services, APIs, and integrations using Python and/or Java.
    * Model, query, and manage data using Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric.
    * Leverage Claude Code and related AI development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
    * Integrate AI capabilities into business applications to support W.E. Bowers users and drive operational efficiency.
    * Maintain and modernize legacy reporting assets where applicable, including Crystal Reports tied to the Spectrum platform.
    * Partner directly with W.E. Bowers business users on-site to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
    * Collaborate with Legence shared services and engineering teams across other Legence operating companies on standards, security, and platform initiatives.
    * Document solutions, follow source-control and CI/CD best practices, and contribute to a high-quality engineering culture.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    * Education & Credentials
    * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
    * Experience
    * 2 to 4 years of professional, post-college experience in full-stack web application development.
    * Proficiency with React for front-end development.
    * Strong professional experience with Python or Java for back-end development; working knowledge of the other is strongly preferred.
    * Hands-on experience designing, querying, and managing data in Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric.
    * Demonstrated working experience across the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including services such as Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI Service, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, and Microsoft Entra ID.
    * Hands-on experience with Claude Code or comparable agentic AI coding tools (such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot agents), with demonstrated readiness to adopt Claude Code from day one.
    * Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into working technical solutions.
    * Preferred Experience
    * Experience building reports and dashboards in Microsoft Power BI.
    * Experience maintaining or modernizing reports in Crystal Reports, particularly those tied to the Spectrum platform.
    * Exposure to additional AI development capabilities, frameworks, and patterns beyond Claude Code.
    * Interest in or exposure to the AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) or MEP industry.
    * Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Additional Notes

    * The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

As OpenAI scales across regions, vendors, and sales motions, we are building the operating systems that ensure our frontline teams can execute with consistency, quality, and speed.

We partner closely with Sales Leadership, Vendor Management, Program Management, Revenue Operations, Product, and vendor leadership to design scalable commercial motions and ensure sellers are prepared to deliver high-quality customer experiences. Our work sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and operational rigor.

    About the Role

We are hiring a global Readiness & Enablement Lead to build and scale the onboarding, training, quality, certification, and seller readiness operating system across OpenAI’s outsourced SMB Sales vendor network.

This is not a traditional training coordinator role. We are looking for a builder who can design scalable readiness frameworks, identify performance risks early, and create repeatable systems that help sellers ramp faster, perform better, and maintain high quality as the business evolves.

This role is global by design. You’ll travel across vendor sites, inspect frontline execution, calibrate quality firsthand, and ensure consistent readiness standards across regions, vendors, and sales motions. The core principle is simple: training is not an event; readiness is a system.

    **In this role, you will:**

Build and scale global onboarding, readiness, and certification frameworks across SMB sales vendors, regions, and sales motions

Create role-based onboarding paths, knowledge checks, pass/fail standards, and ramp expectations for vendor sellers

Ensure vendor trainers can deliver readiness programs consistently and at scale

Design enablement for new products, pricing changes, process updates, and motion launches

Monitor ramp quality, certification performance, productivity curves, and early quality signals to identify risk early

Build dashboards, inspection mechanisms, and feedback loops that connect readiness to seller performance and quality outcomes

Partner with Vendor Managers, Sales Leadership, RevOps, Product, Program Management, and vendor leaders to diagnose and close execution gaps

Creating scalable knowledge systems and AI-enabled workflows that improve onboarding speed, knowledge retention, and readiness inspection

**You might thrive in this role if you have:**

8+ years of experience in sales enablement, readiness, onboarding, training operations, vendor enablement, or scaled commercial operations

Direct experience supporting outsourced sales teams, BPO environments, or large distributed sales organizations

Experience operating in software, SaaS, cloud, ads, or another high-velocity commercial environment

Proven ownership of onboarding, ramp quality, certification programs, and seller readiness outcomes

Strong understanding of sales funnel performance, quality frameworks, frontline coaching, and manager effectiveness

Executive presence, strong operational discipline, and the ability to influence vendor leaders and internal cross-functional stakeholders

    Workplace & Location

This role will be based in San Francisco, CA or New York City. Relocation will be required for this role if you are not located in either of these locations, and regular travel will be part of this role.

    **Compensation Range:**

    $239K - $265K USD

    **We Are:**

We are at the forefront of a new era in enterprise AI — one that moves beyond isolated models and experiments toward fully governed, production-grade AI systems. Our Data & AI practice brings together more than 45,000 professionals dedicated to helping clients build, deploy, and operate AI at scale. We design and engineer the platforms, runtimes, and developer tooling that make autonomous AI agents a reliable reality for the world's largest organisations.

    **You Are:**

As an Advanced AI Full Stack Engineer, you will design and build the foundational systems that power AI agent platforms — from agent orchestration runtimes and sandboxed execution environments to inference routing layers, SDK tooling, and developer-facing APIs. You are a software engineer first, with deep fluency in Python and Node.js, who thrives at the intersection of distributed systems, AI infrastructure, and developer experience. You will work across the full platform stack — from CLI tooling and event-streaming protocols to multi-tenant Kubernetes-based execution environments — shipping production systems that other engineers and AI agents depend on.

    **The Work:**

    **Platform & Runtime Engineering:**

    * Design and build agent orchestration runtimes — stateful execution loops that coordinate tool discovery, model inference, approval gates, and context management.
    * Implement sandboxed execution environments with declarative policy enforcement (network egress, filesystem, compute quotas) that isolate agent workloads at the infrastructure level.
    * Develop pluggable provider interfaces so that sandbox backends (container-based or microVM-based) are swappable without changing agent code.

    **SDK, API & Developer Tooling:**

    * Build Python and Node.js/TypeScript SDKs and CLIs that give developers first-class interfaces for authoring, validating, and running AI agents locally and in enterprise environments.
    * Design REST, gRPC, and event-streaming APIs (WebSocket, SSE) that serve as the communication backbone between agent runtimes, IDE integrations, and platform services.
    * Implement framework adapters that normalize event streams from multiple AI frameworks into a unified platform event model, enabling consistent observability and governance regardless of the underlying agent framework.

    **Inference Routing & Memory Systems:**

    * Build and maintain intelligent inference routing layers that intercept model API calls and dispatch them to on-premise or cloud model endpoints based on data-sovereignty, cost, and capability policies.
    * Engineer multi-tier memory architectures spanning in-process working memory, cross-session relational stores, vector databases for semantic retrieval, and version-controlled procedural pipelines — each backed by swappable provider interfaces.
    * Implement ephemeral credential injection and RBAC-scoped data access so agents operate under least-privilege principles without long-lived secrets in agent code.

    **Observability, Governance & CI/CD:**

    * Instrument platform components with distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry), cost attribution, and P50/P95/P99 latency metrics exportable to standard observability backends.
    * Build CI/CD governance tooling — static validation pipelines that enforce schema correctness, separation-of-duty rules, and regulatory constraints before agent packages are promoted to production registries.
    * Implement human-in-the-loop approval gates and audit-trail mechanisms compatible with enterprise compliance requirements.

    **Collaboration & Technical Leadership:**

    * Work closely with cross-functional teams — AI researchers, product managers, security engineers, and enterprise architects — to align platform capabilities with real-world agent use cases.
    * Provide technical guidance on platform architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices across the team.
    * Communicate architectural trade-offs and platform roadmap decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.

**This role requires working onsite in Mountain View, CA. Applicants must be local to Mountain View area or willing to relocate prior to joining.**

    **Here's what you need**

    * Bachelor's degree (or equivalent minimum 12 years work experience, or minimum 6 years' work experience with Associate's degree) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    * Minimum of 2 years of experience with Python and/or Node.js/TypeScript building production backend services or platform tooling.
    * Minimum of 1 year of experience building or integrating with AI/LLM systems, agent frameworks, or AI developer tooling.

    **Bonus point is you have**

    * 4+ years of experience with Python and Node.js/TypeScript, with a strong track record of building and shipping developer-facing platforms, SDKs, or APIs.
    * 2+ years of experience in one or more of: agent orchestration frameworks, inference serving infrastructure, sandboxed execution environments, or multi-tenant platform engineering.
    * Hands-on experience with async Python frameworks (FastAPI, asyncio), containerisation and Kubernetes, event-streaming protocols (WebSocket, SSE, gRPC), and vector/relational databases.
    * Familiarity with AI agent protocols (MCP, ACP, A2A), OpenTelemetry instrumentation, and modern AI framework ecosystems (LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Anthropic Claude SDK).
    * Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required.
