The ideal candidate will bring innovative teaching methods, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to student success. **Responsibilities** * Plan, prepare and deliver engaging instructional activities using IHS’s competency-based education model, as well as frequent integration of literacy and the arts * Develop course plans using the IHS course planning template * Submit course syllabi quarterly using the IHS template * Align curriculum using the YCCS Competency Based Learning model * Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities * Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs * Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment * Use relevant technology to support instruction * Administer standards-based classroom assessments and utilize assessment data to inform instruction * Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development and provide students with regular feedback * Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations * Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing IHS rules and procedures * Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations * Serve as an advisor and implement advising curriculum * Participate in professional learning community meetings, parent meetings, and behavior intervention meetings * Serve on student portfolio panels and IEP meetings when necessary * Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs * Participate in weekly academy meeting to identify students who require outreach and/or support * Plan and conduct lessons for blended scheduling (virtual learning) * Conduct daily outreach (by phone call, email, text, or best method of contact for each student or parent) * Participate and co-teach shared advisory (with academy team) * Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities * Maintain certification records using the IBSE ELIS Educator Certification System and notify administration of any changes to certification Pay: $50,000.00 per year Benefits: * 403(b) * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Professional development assistance * Vision insurance Work Location: In person
