The Senior Engineer plays a pivotal role in advancing innovative solutions within the Advanced Technologies team. This position requires a strong technical foundation and the ability to independently manage significant engineering tasks while contributing to the development of cutting-edge technologies, such as surgical navigation, wearable sensors, and instrumented implants.


The Senior Engineer will lead portions of the development lifecycle, providing technical guidance to less experienced team members, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions that align with Paragon 28’s mission.

**How You'll Create Impact**

* Lead development efforts for key components of advanced technologies, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with project objectives.
* Assist in defining system requirements, focusing on technical feasibility, data quality/availability, and performance metrics.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to the design, testing, and deployment of innovative technologies.
* Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting skill development and knowledge sharing within the team.
* Develop and document testing protocols, analyze test results, and recommend design improvements.
* Support ongoing research and development initiatives, exploring new technologies to enhance product capabilities.
**Your Background**

**Education**

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
* Advanced degree (MS/PhD) focused on Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Data Science, or related field preferred but not required

**Experience**

* Minimum of 5+ years of experience in engineering, with demonstrated ownership of technical projects or subsystems
* Ability to operate independently while contributing to a collaborative, cross-functional environment

* Software & Algorithm Development
+ Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar
+ Experience developing algorithms for data processing, computational modeling, or systems control

+ Familiarity with model development, evaluation, and deployment
* Data & Statistical Analysis
+ Experience with statistical modeling, data analysis, and performance evaluation
+ Ability to work with real-world datasets (noisy, incomplete, clinical, etc.)
* Systems & Product Integration
+ Experience working within larger systems (e.g., surgical navigation, sensors, wearables, or similar)
+ Understanding of how software integrates with hardware and/or clinical workflows
* Medical Device Product Development
+ Proficiency in CAD software (Solidworks, 3-Matic, Fusion 360)
+ Experience in requirements-based product development

**Additional Strengths**

* Experience in medical devices, imaging, or regulated environments
* Exposure to signal processing, biomechanics, or sensor data
* Ability to lead portions of complex projects independently while contributing to the broader team’s success.
* Experience mentoring and coaching junior engineering teams
