TTPS Continues Investigation Into Disappearance Of Two-Year-Old

TTPS Vows to Continue Search for Missing Two-Year-Old Angelo Tobias

Goodwood, Tobago — 18th May, 2026

Earlier today, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service confirmed that investigations into the disappearance of two-year-old Angelo Tobias are still very much active. The child, from the quiet community of Goodwood in Tobago, was reported missing on 11th May. A full week has now passed, and authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant.

Coordinated Search Operation Underway

Police say a coordinated search operation was launched immediately after the report came in. Officers from the Tobago Division, along with multiple agencies, have been combing the area since last week. Searches have taken place both day and night, with teams covering bush, coastal zones and residential neighbourhoods.

A senior officer speaking this morning emphasised that no stone is being left unturned. "We are treating this as a high-priority matter," the officer stated. Resources from the Coast Guard and other support services have been deployed to assist with the extensive ground and marine sweeps.

Community in Shock

Residents of Goodwood and surrounding districts have been left shaken. Many remember the little boy playing near his home and cannot understand how he vanished so quickly. Local volunteers have joined official teams, walking tracks and checking abandoned buildings whilst offering emotional support to the family.

One neighbour described the mood as heavy. "The whole village is liming less these days. Everybody just wants Angelo home safe," she said.

Family's Heartfelt Plea

The Tobias family has made several public appeals for information. They are asking anyone who may have seen the child or noticed anything unusual around 11th May to come forward immediately. Small community gatherings have been held to pray and keep hope alive.

What Happens Next

Investigators continue to follow leads and review CCTV footage from nearby businesses. The TTPS has also set up a dedicated hotline for tips. Authorities remind the public that even the smallest detail could prove crucial in bringing little Angelo back to his loved ones.

As the search enters its second week, the focus remains clear: find the child and ensure his safe return. Tobago's close-knit communities are known for rallying together in times of crisis, and this case is no different.
